South Africa Under Apartheid

He began medical practice in Cleveland, Ohio in 1978 and retired to La Jolla in 1994. Having grown up in South Africa during the apartheid era, Dr. Mazansky is well versed with the politics of the times and comes to us this evening to share his insights and experiences during this most contentious period of South African political history.

Dr. Mazansky will discuss the politics of the time then and now: he will also compare the similarities between the apartheid system, which lasted from 1948 through 1994, and the Civil Rights movement of the 1960’s in the United States.sf-lgflag
